Legislative Advocacy Committee

The purpose is to advocate for legislative priorities established by the Community Alliance.  The Alliance has adopted eleven legislative priorities for FY 2009:
  1. Juvenile Assessment Center Funding
  2. Increase or Maintain Funding for Key Services Targeting Older Adults, Particularly Frail Older Adults
  3. Protect Existing and Increase Older Adult Transportation Funding, Particularly for Low-Income Older Adults
  4. Revise F.S. Section 617.0802, “Qualifications of Directors” for Non-Profit Agencies
  5. Additional Housing for Low-income Retirees
  6. Promote the Ability of the Physically Challenged to Socialize and to "Age in Place"
  7. Proposal to Add $1 Per Pack Tax to Cigarettes
  8. Potential of Cuts to Human Services
  9. Nonrecurring Funding for Mothers and Infants Program
  10. Nonrecurring Funding for FETC and Compass Center
  11. Expansion of Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Program
